2020.8.13
Thank you for your waiting.
We decided to held Kyoto Filmmakers Lab 2020 in this Autumn in Kyoto. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped yet, we open our online application for HANDS-ON JIDAIGEAKI program and Masters Session program to continue Kyoto Filmmakers Lab for young filmmakers.
Our purpose is sharing diversity and making network for young filmmakers. In the twelve-year history of Kyoto Filmmakers Lab, a total of 324 participants from 50 countries, selected from 1733 applicants from 110 countries, have experienced KFL workshops and collaborate with each other in Kyoto. From 2015, we deliver edgy lectures in collaboration with Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), the largest film festival in Japan, in addition to our signature Jidaigeki making workshop.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will call for the participants only who lives in Japan for HANDS-ON “JIDAIGEKI” program. The people who lives outside Japan can NOT apply to HANDS-ON “JIDAIGEKI” program this year. For the same reason, we will call for the participants for Masters Session program by two formats. One for the participants who lives in Japan, the other is for who lives outside Japan. The participants who lives in Japan will be able to participate in all program. The participants who lives outside Japan will be able to participate in online program (Masters Session Online) only. We have held the whole program in English basically until now, but we force to be held the program in Japanese basically this year. Except that we plan to supply an interpreter for English speakers in Masters Session Online.
We hope that this program will be a meaningful opportunity for aspiring filmmakers in this ever-changing visual arts world. We welcome to accept your application until September 23rd.
Thank you for your understanding and for being interested in our project.
